Thursday Yourday: It's About Community

Today we seem to take a liking to organic or recycled items for the mere fact that they are "trendy" and rightfully so. What's not to like about things that cause no harm to the environment and provide sustainability for all of humanity? However, today's feature, It's About Community, is much more than a business that is succeeding because it is "trendy".

It's About Community is an organic foods farm founded by Chris Devaney. The farm produces anything from corn, to naturally laid eggs, to apples. Chris's organic farm is also one of the cheapest in the area. Located in South Jersey, It's About Community is operated by a group of men ranging in age from early teens to adults diagnosed with learning disabilities. These men are not able to be employed at a "normal", 9 to 5 job, so Chris hires them to work as farmers. The patience, compassion, and cooperation it takes to work with anyone diagnosed with a disability is out of this world. It is truly heartwarming to see organizations such as Mr. Devaney's in effect.

To contact Chris Devaney or learn more information about It's About Community please email him at cdevaney86@gmail.com or by phone at (609) 412 1742.

It really is about community~
